A true American icon — singer and humanitarian Dolly Parton has died at 80. She grew up poor in Tennessee and ascended to super stardom as a country music singer and later, as an actor, humanitarian, philanthropist and as an extraordinary human being.
She wore her faith on her rhinestone-studded sleeve. She was a Capricorn with wonderful business sense and a self-deprecating sense of humor that helped to endear her to many around the world. She was a Virgo moon and rising so her spirit of service was very strong. Dolly told the story of her father being illiterate so she created “The Imagination Library” that provided free books to children. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dolly took a stand, broke out her checkbook and donated $1 million to the efforts to eradiate the sickness.
Dolly Patron professed a level of acceptance and understanding that excluded no one, and included everyone. We are all better off having shared the Earth with her during her time here. May she rest in peace. She’s now back with her dear husband Carl Dean and I’m sure she’s rejoicing with her brand new set of wings!
